Text Segmentation for Menzerath-Altmann Law Testing - Martina Benešová et. al. - diskuze

Tato monografie je charakterizována jednotným tématem svých textů, a to motivem Menzerath-Altmannova zákona a testování jeho potenciální platnosti na výběrových souborech textů v různých jazycích (v případě tohoto svazku textů v čínštině, japonštině a češtině), na výběrových souborech mluvených stejně tak jako psaných textů, na kterých byly aplikovány zcela nově vytvořené koncepty segmentačních jednotek. Menzerath-Altmannův zákon je označován jako uplatnitelný na širokém spektru jazyků, a je tudíž považován za jazykovou univerzálii. Tato monografie sumarizuje naznačeným způsobem následný výzkum založený na dalších pilotních experimentech, který byly provedeny nejen na textech ve zmíněných jazycích, a usiluje o testování tohoto konceptu jazykové univerzálie.
The leading topic uniting the texts in this monograph is the Menzerath-Altmann law and testing its potential validity on samples in different languages (in our case, in Chinese, Japanese, and Czech), on spoken as well as written samples and on samples with newly established, pioneer unit concepts. The Menzerath-Altmann law is reported to be capable of being applied on such variety of language aspects and is, therefore, regarded as a language universal. The monograph, this way, summarizes a follow-up research based on other pilot experiments held not only in the mentioned languages, and attempts to test the concept of the language universal.
