Princess and the Giant (Hart Caryl)(Paperback) - diskuze

This quirky reinvention of Jack and the Beanstalk is the perfect picture book for any princess who wants to be the hero of her own tale. Princess Sophie is very resourceful sort of princess. And when the grumpy old giant at the top of beanstalk keeps everyone awake all night every night, she wonders if her favourite book of fairy tales might have the answer. She bravely climbs the beanstalk and first takes a tasty bowl of porridge, then a teddy to cuddle and even a cosy blanket, all to help the giant sleep. But, oh dear, nothing works until finally Sophie hits upon the perfect thing . . . the giant needs a story! Everyone can now sleep happily ever after but when Sophie then teaches the giant how to read himself, it really proves that there's nothing like a good bedtime story. This feminist rhyming story by award-winning author Caryl Hart is perfect for princesses and princes who don't need rescuing. And there's more! If you like Caryl Hart's and Sarah Warburton's witty and warm stories, there's a whole series of books to discover about princesses who are definitely NOT princessy. Try The Princess and the Christmas Rescue, The Princess and the Giant, The Princess and the Presents and The Princess and the Pea. Includes a FREE Nosy Crow Stories Aloud® audiobook!
