On Liberty

John Stuart Mill's On Liberty was published in 1859 and introduced one of the most powerful defenses of individual freedom in nineteenth-century social and political philosophy. Mill has mentioned his opinions On Liberty to be about, the importance, to humans and society, to various types of character, and of giving full opportunity to human nature to grow itself in endless and clashing directions. He thinks liberty is the ability to improve and to stay away from social gatherings. Mill's passionate encouragement of spontaneity, uniqueness, and diversity, alongside his disrespect for compulsory consistency and the tyranny of well-known opinion, has attracted respect for and judgment of the book.
