Ida the Cloud - Damayanthi Ponnuthurai

Ida the Cloud introduces readers to Ida, a dreamy cumulus cloud whose head is quite literally in the clouds. Thoughtful, curious, and full of ideas, Ida sees no separation between humans, animals and plants - everything is part of the same living world. When her wise and unconventional teacher, Mr Lightning Strikes, asks her to imagine a single New Year’s moment the whole world could share, Ida’s answer is beautifully simple and quietly radical: people put down their phones and look up. This lyrical, gently philosophical picture book celebrates imagination, attentiveness, and the joy found in small shared moments. With warmth and subtle humour, Ida the Cloud invites children (and adults) to slow down, reconnect with the world around them, and trust the value of their own inner life.
