What is the Sangha? - Bikshu Sangharakshita

In What is the Sangha? Sangharakshita suggests that to explore the nature of spiritual community is also to examine what makes us true individuals. The Sangha in Buddhism is the free association of developing individuals choosing to help each other along the path. It is one of the three highest ideals of Buddhism, alongside the Buddha and the Dharma. Sangharakshita explores the nature of spiritual community and how it is balanced by reflections on individuality, on what it is to be truly human.
