The Mud Cakes: We Love to Talk! - Jacqueline Harding

The Mud Cakes invites children to go on an adventure with Dot, Dizzy, Fifo and BabyBug to look for a box of exciting playthings. Using the tins in the playbox, the four friends make mud cakes and have a surprise party, celebrating by singing a song together. This beautifully illustrated storybook is designed to engage young children through a rich cast of characters and a playful narrative, while sharing essential positional words. The book employs rotation schemas – which are innately attractive to young children – and the concluding song is accompanied by professional music, available on the companion website. Several little bugs have been hidden throughout the pages, which practitioners can encourage children to identify and describe. This book can be used effectively alongside the companion storybook The Treasure Hunt and the accompanying guide, Little Brains Love to Talk. It is an ideal resource for educators and speech and language practitioners working with young children, as well as for parents looking to support their child’s language skills.
