The Illuminated Gospel of Matthew - diskuze

An exquisite fine art edition of St Matthew's Gospel, illuminated by artist-calligrapher Jane Sullivan. Like the Illuminated Gospel of John, it is inspired by Celtic art and the beautiful illuminated manuscripts of the Middle Ages. Following the majestic King James Version, the Gospel is beautifully handwritten in traditional calligraphic script. It is lavishly illustrated throughout, representing a display of reverence for the text. As a 21st-century artist, Jane Sullivan blends the medieval and the modern, using high-quality gouaches, inks and paper, to create the artwork, which is carefully printed onto high-grade wove paper. The result is a book to delight both eye and soul, inviting readers to engage afresh with the Gospel and its story.
