Peace is Possible - Satish Kumar

At a time of international conflict and climate emergency, this collection of Satish Kumar’s works on peace and connection with people and planet has never been more relevant. Peace is Possible brings together three of internationally renowned speaker and activist Satish Kumar’s best-known works. You Are Therefore I Am traces Satish’s spiritual journey as he learns to view the world as a network of interconnected relationships. It explores his sources of inspiration, from his mother, teacher and Guru to some of the great activists and thinkers of the last century, including Martin Luther King, Bertrand Russell and Indian sage Vinoba Bhave. Pilgrimage for Peace recounts the remarkable story of Satish’s two-year, 8,000 mile journey from India to the four nuclear capitals of the world – Moscow, Paris, London and Washington – and his encounters along the way with heads of state, fellow peace activists and the ordinary people who cheered him on. Finally, Satish’s retelling of the encounter between the Buddha and a violent and fearsome outcast, The Buddha and the Terrorist offers a message for our time about the importance of finding peaceful means to end war and terror. An inspiring and deeply moving call for peace with each other, with nature and with ourselves, Satish’s words provide wisdom, hope and joy when we need it most.
