Farewell to the White Cockade - Jane Lane - diskuze

Farewell to the White Cockade tells the tragic story of Bonnie Prince Charlie and his life-long exile trying to enlist support to recover his father''s throne. From the court of Louis XV in Versailles to the dock yards of Antwerp, Charles Edward Stuart narrowly avoids spies and assassins at every turn. Betrayed by his wife and brother, his dreams slowly fade and the Prince is sustained only by his own gritty courage, faith and an illegitimate daughter, Charlotte, whose life is dogged by a more perilous fate than her father could ever have imagined. Here is a very human and superbly written tragedy of a prince who for all his faults and failings remains to this day ‘King of the highland hearts.’
