Comamala Ismail

The diverse portfolio of the practice led by Diego Comamala and Toufiq Ismail-Meyer, which was founded in 2013 and is based in Delémont and Biel, ranges from private to public buildings. Their architecture exists in the field of tension between abstraction and construction. For instance the sports hall in Vernayaz (2019) stages light as a spatially formative element, while the new school building in Thun (2025) sounds out the spatial potential of appropriately designed wooden constructions.Text in English and German.
