At Eternity's Gate (Julian Schnabel) (DVD)

Willem Dafoe stars as Vincent van Gogh in this biographical drama. Set in the painter's final years, the film follows van Gogh as he leaves Paris and settles in the town of Arles in the south of France. There, he enjoys an extraordinarily creative period and ponders the philosophical nature of his work. After once again succumbing to his mental demons, van Gogh is hospitalised in Saint-Rmy-de-Provence but continues to paint in his recent rich creative vein before being discharged to live out his final days.
