Founded in the 1960s by Alessandro Bianchi, Villa Franciacorta is a family-run winery located in Lombardy in the municipality of Monticelli Brusati, in the small hamlet of Villa. The estate's vineyards surround the village and extend over approximately 46 hectares, from which the winery produces vintage wines of the highest quality. Villa Franciacorta's Saten Brut is a wine made from hand-picked Chardonnay grapes sourced from the estate's vineyards. The Saten is a sparkling wine made with minimal sugar to achieve a lower final pressure and finer, silkier bubbles. The result is an elegant, versatile wine that ages on the lees for at least three years, acquiring structure and aromatic complexity. In the glass, the wine reveals a brilliant straw-yellow color enhanced by golden highlights and a delicate, fine perlage. Its aromatic profile is fragrant with fruity notes of peach and tropical fruit, floral hints, and the typical aromas of bread crust and brioche. On the palate, it has good structure. It is medium-bodied, soft, and harmonious, with a velvety texture and a refreshing finish. It is very versatile with food. It is excellent with sushi and shrimp tempura, roasted white fish and turkey, scallops risotto, and also with vegetarian first courses and tarts.
