Pierre Rouve writes and directs this 1967 crime drama starring James Mason, Geraldine Chaplin and Bobby Darin. John Sawyer was once a well-regarded barrister but he has become a disillusioned drunk lacking purpose in his life. However, when his daughter Angela Chaplin's boyfriend, Barney Darin, is accused of murder she pleads with her father to defend him in court and Sawyer is forced to change his ways and return to his old ways of diligence as he attempts his own investigation in order to solve the case.
