Man Ray Portraits

When Man Ray died in 1976, he left behind a wealth of photo negatives from his Paris portrait studio. Almost 500 pictures of the Dadaist and Surrealist worlds, US emigrants of the Lost Generation, aristocrats, fashion and theatre people attest to his ability as a portraitist and to the quality of his archive as a monument to cultural history.
