The decadent celebrations Robert witnesses in the house commemorate the demise of Lavinia Barbara Steele, a witch who was burned alive in 1652. With the help of witchcraft expert Professor Marsh Boris Karloff, Robert discovers the role one of his ancestors played in Lavinia's death. More disturbingly, he also learns that Lavinia's vengeful spirit is still at large.
